Joey Greeno

With Kalahari Since 2003

Joey Greeno has more than 35 years of experience in the hospitality industry and currently serves as the Director of Sales at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Joey has been with Kalahari for 23 years, progressing through a successful career path that began as a Senior Sales Manager, followed by Assistant Director of Sales, before earning his current role as Director of Sales.

Joey's hospitality journey began in a restaurant, where he started as a host and advanced to a management position within a year. Recognizing his ambition and eagerness to learn, a General Manager encouraged him to explore other areas of hotel operations. This opportunity allowed Joey to gain valuable experience in banquet operations, housekeeping, and rooms division, giving him a well-rounded understanding of the hospitality business.

When Joey transitioned into hotel sales, he quickly discovered his passion for helping clients achieve their goals and building successful partnerships. Throughout his tenure at Kalahari, he has consistently driven record-setting revenue growth and increased room night production, contributing significantly to the resort's success.

A firm believer in the power of relationships, Joey takes pride in developing long-lasting partnerships with clients based on trust, communication, and exceptional service. His dedication to both his team and his customers has made him a respected leader within the hospitality industry. Outside of work Joey enjoys spending time with his family, two corgis, shooting darts and hunting.

Why Kalahari?

I chose to join Kalahari Resorts & Conventions because he immediately saw the tremendous potential of the property. The first time he walked into the resort's lobby, he was in awe of its size and energy. At the time, Kalahari was beginning a major expansion of its meeting space and guest rooms, and I recognized that the resort was positioned for significant growth and success. I describes Kalahari as the "new shiny toy" that everyone wanted to come and see. The excitement surrounding the property, combined with its commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences, made it an opportunity I could not pass up. I saw a bright future for the resort and wanted to be part of its growth story. 23 years later, that decision has proven to be the right one. I have had the opportunity to grow alongside the company, advancing from Senior Sales Manager to Assistant Director of Sales and ultimately Director of Sales. I take great pride in contributing to Kalahari's success and helping establish it as one of the premier resort and convention destinations in the Midwest.

Favorite Kalahari Moment:

I don't have just one favorite moment from my career at Kalahari. One of my most memorable experiences was spending Saturdays in Farlene's office, sitting on her couch, brainstorming ways to find new business. Those moments taught me a great deal about sales, relationship building, and the importance of persistence.

Another favorite part of my job is meeting with both new and existing clients and hearing about the success of their meetings and events. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing that our team played a role in helping them achieve their goals. Building those relationships and seeing clients return year after year has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my career.
